75% of pasta was exported from Southeastern Anatolia

In 2021, Turkish pasta producers earned 780 million dollars for their exports of 1 million 370 thousand tons of products to 160 countries. Southeastern Anatolia Region exporters realized 588 million dollars of this amount.

Southeast Anatolian Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association members met with President Mahsum Altunkaya and discussed 2021. President Altunkaya stated that cereals and pulses exporters made the most exports from Gaziantep and the Southeastern Anatolia Region on a sectoral basis, and noted that 2,952,537,000 dollars of sectoral exports were realized from the region in 2021. Altunkaya said that despite all the challenges, their exporter members exceeded their 2021 targets.

Pasta, vegetable oils, wheat flour and biscuit-pastry products ranked first in product-based exports from the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Talking about product-based exports, President Mahsum Altunkaya said, “Our industrialists exported 588 million 118 thousand dollars of pasta, 538 million 770 thousand dollars of vegetable oils, 504 million 128 thousand dollars of wheat flour in 2021. Apart from these products; pasta, vegetable oils, biscuit-pastry products, cocoa products, feed varieties, margarine, semolina, oilseeds and products, sugar and confectionery products, bulgur, lentils, chickpeas, spice varieties, olive oil and its derivatives, wheat flour, beans and other products were exported to 175 countries from our region."

In 2021, the Southeastern Anatolia Region had the biggest share in the exports of grains, pulses, oilseeds and products of 9,156,452,000 dollars in total from Turkey, with 2,944,357,000 dollars.
