Gaziantep, which is one of the 11 provinces affected by the earthquakes and pro- duces more than 50 percent of Turkey’s pasta production, is healing its wounds. Turkish Pasta Manufacturers Association (TMSD) Chair- man of the Board of Directors Aykut Göymen said, “We also felt the earthquake very intensely in this city known for vast amount of pasta pro- duction. But so far, thankfully, we have not received any informa- tion of a permanent damage from any of our members. Our factories have started to work now. Only in the first few days, due to the intense aftershocks, people were uneasy, and because of the 4-5 day shortage in natural gas supply, production could not be made. However, there was no disruption in the produc- tion chain. In the pasta in- dustry, we use natural gas energy to dry the pasta. With the supply of natural gas, our factories started to run one after anothr. There is no shortage of supply in pasta.” Aykut Göymen also stated that there was no prob- lem that would hinder production in Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone. “However, employees are very nervous be- cause they felt quite strong and big earthquakes. However, despite this, all our employees support us so that there are no breaks in the supply chain due to the fact that we are the food industry. Currently, there is no problem in production. We would like to thank the Turkish Grain Board. From the first moments of the earthquake, they stood by us and took mea- sures to ensure the continuity of supply.” he said. “No problem in pasta production, factories are running” Turkish Pasta Manufacturers’ Association (TMSD) Chairman Aykut Göymen said that there is no problem in Turkey’s pasta production and that all factories are currently active. “Makarna üretiminde sorun yok fabrikalarımız çalışıyor” Türkiye Makarna Sanayicileri Derneği (TMSD) Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Aykut Göymen, ülkenin makarna üreti- minde herhangi bir sorun olmadığını, şuanda bütün fabri- kaların üretim yaptığını söyledi. Tüm Türkiye’yi derinden sarsan Kahramanmaraş merkezli 7,7 ve 7,6 büyüklüğündeki iki deprem büyük yıkıma yol açtı. Depremlerden etkilenen 11 ilden biri olan ve Türkiye makarna üretiminin yüzde 50’den fazlasını gerçekleştiren Gaziantep’te yaralarını sarıyor. Türkiye Makarna Sanayicileri Derneği (TMSD) Yönetim Ku- rulu Başkanı Aykut Göymen, “Makarna üretiminin bu kadar yoğun olduğu bir ilde bizler de depremi çok yoğun bir şekilde hissettik. Fakat şu ana kadar şükürler olsun ki üyelerimizin herhangi birinden kalıcı bir hasar meydana geldiği- ne dair bilgi almadık. Şuanda Fabrikalarımız çalışmaya başladı. Sadece ilk birkaç gün hem artçı deprem- lerin yoğun olmasın- dan dolayı insanların tedirgin olması hem de doğalgaz arzında 4-5 günlük sıkıntıdan dolayı üretim yapıla- madı. Ancak üretim zincirinde bir aksama yaşanmadı. Makarna sanayinde makarnayı kurutmak için doğalgaz enerjisinden faydalanı- yoruz. Doğalgaz arzının sağlanmasıyla fabrikalarımız teker teker çalışmaya başladı. Makarna anlamında herhangi bir arz sıkıntısı bulunmuyor” dedi. Gaziantep Organize Sanayi Bölgesinde üre- timi aksatacak herhangi bir sıkıntı yaşanmadığını da aktaran Aykut Göymen, “Ancak çalışanlar böyle şiddetli ve büyük depremleri hissettikleri için çok tedirginler. Fakat buna rağ- men gıda sektörü olmamız hasebiyle tedarik zincirinde kop- maların olmaması için bütün çalışanlarımız bizlere destek olu- yor. Şuanda üretimde herhangi bir sıkıntı yaşanmıyor. Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi’ne çok teşekkür ediyoruz. Depremin ilk an- larından itibaren bizlerle hep birlikte oldu ve arzın sürekliğini sağlamak amacıyla önlemler aldılar.” diye konuştu.
