BBM • APRIL - NİSAN 2023 30 NEWS HABER Flowers Foods, Inc., announced it has completed the ac- quisition of Papa Pita Bakery, a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality bagels, tortillas, breads, buns, English muf- fins, and flat breads. Papa Pita Bakery will operate as an independent subsidiary of Flowers. “Papa Pita has been an important co-manufacturer of Flowers products for many years, and we ex- pect the acquisition to drive further manufac- turing and distribution synergies,” said Ryals McMullian, president and CEO, Flowers Foods. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the pas- sionate Papa Pita team to Flowers.” Papa Pita will remain in its Utah facility, al- lowing Flowers to expand its foothold in the Western US. Flowers will fund the acquisition with cash-on-hand and existing credit facilities, the company said. Headquartered in Thomasville, Ga., Flowers Foods, Inc. is one of the largest producers of pack- aged bakery foods in the United States with 2022 sales of $4.8 billion. Flowers operates bakeries across the country that pro- duce a wide range of bakery products. Among the company’s top brands are Nature’s Own, Dave’s Killer Bread, Wonder, Can- yon Bakehouse, and Tastykake.
