In the report of the National Cereals Council (NCC), which covers the period between October 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023, the wheat cul- tivation area, which was estimated at 7.1 million hectares last year, was estimated to be 7.3 million hectares this year, despite the insufficient precipitation nationwide. It was emphasized that precipitation-induced losses will be subsidized by the increase in planting areas and that wheat yields will be similar to last year.
