BBM • JULY - TEMMUZ 2023 16 NEWS HABER As the harvest season continues uninterruptedly across the country, the wheat yield forecast from the Turkish National Grain Council (UHK) has made everyone happy. In the forecast report of the UHK, it was stated that Turkey received 441 millimeters of pre- cipitation in the 8-month development period between October 1 and May 31 of the 2022-2023 production year, 9 percent below the long-term average, and it was emphasized that the winter season was the second winter season with the lowest precipita- tion in the last 63 years. The report, which predicts that the wheat cultivation area will be 7.3 million hectares in the 2022-2023, said: “When the change in cultivation areas, the amount and distribution of pre- cipitation and local factors affecting yield are evaluated to- gether, it is predicted that wheat yield will remain at the same level in the Marmara Region, increase by 3 percent each in the Aegean and Mediterranean Regions, 7 percent in the South- eastern Anatolia Region, 10 percent in the Central Anatolia Re- gion, 12 percent in the Eastern Anatolia Region and 20 percent in the Black Sea Region compared to the long-term average. Based on these regional assessments, it is estimated that the yield in this production year will increase by 7.5 percent com- pared to the long-term average and will be 21.5 million tons.” In the forecast report, it was stated that after a dry fall andwinter sea- son, the region experienced a period of intense rainfall in the spring. Wheat harvest projected at peak levels in recent years The Turkish National Cereals Council (UHK) announced the 2022/23 wheat yield forecast report for Turkey. Ac- cording to the Council’s Wheat Production Yield 2nd Estimate Report for 2022-23 (October 1, 2022 - May 31, 2023), published on June 23, 2023, Turkey’s wheat yield will be around 21.5 million tons this year. Konsey’in 23 Haziran 2023 tarihli yayımlanan 2022-23 (1 Ekim 2022-31 Mayıs 2023) Buğday Üretim Rekolte 2. Tahmin Raporu’na göre, bu yıl Türkiye’nin buğday rekoltesi 21,5 milyon ton civa- rında olacak. Ülke genelinde hasat sezonu kesintisiz devam ederken Ulusal Hububat Konseyi’nden (UHK) gelen buğday re- kolte tahmini yüzleri güldürdü. UHK’nın tahmin raporunda Türkiye’nin 2022-2023 üretim yılı 1 Ekim-31 Mayıs arası 8 ay- lık gelişme döneminde 441 milimetre yağış aldığı ve bunun uzun yıllar ortalamasının yüzde 9 altında olduğu belirtilerek, kış mevsiminin, son 63 yılın en düşük yağış alan ikinci kış mevsimi olduğu vurgulandı. Buğday ekim alanının 2022- 2023 üretim yılında 7,3 mil- yon hektar olduğunun öngörüldüğü raporda, “Ekim alanla- rındaki değişim, yağış miktar ve dağılımları ile verim üzerine etken lokal faktörler birlikte değerlendirildiğinde buğday rekoltesinin uzun yıllar ortalamasına göre; Marmara Bölge- sinde aynı düzeyde kalacağı, Ege ve Akdeniz Bölgelerin- de yüzde 3’er, Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde yüzde 7, İç Anadolu Bölgesinde yüzde 10, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde yüzde 12 ve Karadeniz Bölgesinde yüzde 20 artacağı öngö- rülmüştür. Bölgesel bu değerlendirmeler ışığında bu üretim yılındaki rekoltenin, uzun yıllar ortalamasına göre yüzde 7,5 artarak 21,5 milyon ton olarak gerçekleşebileceği değerlen- dirilmiştir” denildi. Tahmin raporunda, kurak geçen sonbahar ve kış mevsi- minin ardından ilkbaharla birlikte yağışların yoğun alındığı bir dönem yaşadığı ifade edildi.
