editör editor Dear readers, We are together with our 66th issue. We have been receiving favorable harvest reports from all corners of the country since the start of the wheat harvest season. During and after the Feast of Sacrifice, I had the opportu- nity to observe the wheat harvest in Southeastern Anatolia and Tekirdağ. First, I examined the wheat harvest in Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Mardin provinces on-site. January and February were expected to be dry across the country, leading to a decrease in yields. Yet, the situation was overturned with the rainfall in March, April and May. I ob- served that the wheat and barley harvests yielded more than expected, and the Turkey’s National Grain Council, in its latest report, increased the wheat yield to 21.5 million tons, the high- est level in recent years. Our observations in Tekirdağ within the scope of Doruk Un’s activities in the field of seed production showed that there was a very productive wheat harvest in this region as well. TMO, which had anticipated that wheat would be especially scarce this year due to drought concerns, had increased its stocks with the imports it had previously made. Thanks to the high yields across the country and the wheat purchase prices announced by the Turkish Grain Board, farmers are showing great interest in TMO for sales. Despite the fact that TMO did not disrupt product pur- chases in all regions even during the Eid al-Adha holiday, it is somewhat insufficient considering the heavy demand. The gap between the price in the free market and the TMO’s purchase price also has an impact on this. I hope that the farmer will continue to plant wheat in the coming years and we will be able to meet the imported wheat that we use in the export of flour and bakery products from the products of our own farmers. Hope to meet you in our next issue... Değerli okurlar, 66’ncı sayımızla birlikteyiz. Buğday hasat sezonunun başlamasından bu yana ülke- nin dört bir yanında hasat ile ilgili olumlu veriler geliyor. Kurban Bayramı ve sonrasında Güneydoğu Anadolu ve Tekirdağ’da buğday hasadını yerinde gözlemleme imkanım oldu. Önce Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep ve Mardin illerinde buğday hasadını yerinde inceledim. Ocak ve Şubat aylarının ülke genelinde kurak geçme- si endişesiyle rekolte düşüşleri beklentisi vardı. Ancak Mart, Nisan ve Mayıs aylarındaki yağışlarla durum tersine döndü. Buğday ve arpa hasadında beklentilerin üzerin- de verim alındığını gözlemledim. Bu durumdan kaynaklı Ulusal Hububat Konseyi de son raporunda buğday rekoltesini son yılların en yüksek seviyesi olan 21.5 milyon tona çıkardı. Doruk Un’nun tohumculuk alanındaki etkinlikleri kapsa- mında Tekirdağ’da yaptığımız gözlemler, bu bölgede de çok verimli buğday hasadı gerçekleştiğini gördük. Kuraklık endişesiyle bu yıl özellikle buğdayın az olacağı- nı düşünen TMO’nun daha önce yaptığı ithalat ile stokları artmıştı. Ürün hasadında ülke genelinde yaşanan yüksek verim ve Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi’nin açıkladığı buğday alım fiyatları sayesinde çiftçiler satış için TMO’ya yoğun ilgi gösteriyor. TMO bütün bölgelerde Kurban Bayramı tatilinde bile ürün alımını aksatmamasına rağmen yoğun talep karşısında biraz yetersiz kalıyor. Bunda serbest piyasada oluşan fiyat ile TMO’nun alım fiyatı arasında fark olmasının da etkisi var. Geçen yıl uygulanan fiyat politikalarıyla ekim alanları artan ve bu yıl ürün bolluğu yaşadığımız buğdayda umarım gelecek yıllarda çiftçi ekime devam eder ve ülke olarak un ve unlu mamul ihracatında kullandığımız ithal buğdayı kendi çiftçimizin ürününden karşılarız.
