BBM • JULY - TEMMUZ 2024 32 NEWS HABER Mehmet Mesut Çakmak highlighted the negative impact of low rainfall in some regions on this year’s wheat harvest, estimating the wheat yield for 2024 at around 20 million tons and setting the annual export target for flour at $1.5 billion. Discussing wheat harvest and flour exports, Çakmak noted that last year saw the highest wheat yield in recent years, but this year has experienced decreased rainfall in Central Anatolia, leading to an expected decrease in yield. He also mentioned high production expectations from the Southeastern Anatolia Region, stating, “We expect a 10% in- crease in wheat production in our region this year, as rainfall averages were very favorable. 65% of this year’s crop in our region consists of durum wheat, which is renowned as the best in the world for pasta production.” “NO WHEAT STOCK IN THE MARKET” Çakmak noted the need for farmers to have greater access to government support, stating, “The government increases its purchases every year to support farmers. Last year, the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) purchased 13.5 million tons of wheat. We expect purchases to continue increasing this year. Currently, there is not much stock in the market. Bazı bölgelerde yaşanan yağış azlığının, yıllık buğday rekol- tesini olumsuz yönde etkilediğine dikkat çeken Mehmet Me- sut Çakmak, 2024’te buğday rekoltesi tahminlerinin yaklaşık 20 milyon ton, un ihracatında ise yıllık hedefin 1.5 milyar dolar olduğunu söyledi. Buğday hasadına ve un ihracatına yönelik değerlendirmelerde bulunan Çakmak, geçtiğimiz sene son yılların en yüksek buğday rekoltesinin gerçekleştiğini, bu yıl ise özellikle İç Anadolu’da yağışların azaldığını ve buna bağ- lı olarak rekoltede düşüş yaşanacağını dile getirdi. Çakmak, Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nden ise üretim beklentilerinin yüksek olduğunu ifade ederek, “Bu sene bölgemizde buğ- day üretiminde yüzde 10 artış bekliyoruz, yağış ortalaması çok iyiydi. Bölgemizde bu sene ekinin yüzde 65’i makarnalık buğ- daydan oluşuyor. Dünyanın en iyi makarnalık buğdayı bölge- mizde yetişiyor’’ dedi. “PIYASADA BUĞDAY STOĞU YOK” Çiftçilerin devlet desteklerine daha fazla erişmesi gerekti- ğini kaydeden Çakmak, “Devlet her sene çiftçiyi desteklemek adına alımlarını artırıyor. Toprak Mahsülleri Ofisi (TMO) geçen yıl 13.5 milyon ton buğday satın aldı. Bu sene alımların artarak devam etmesini bekliyoruz. Piyasada şu an fazla stok yok. Bu sene faizler yüksek olduğu için kimsenin stok şansı yok” dedi. Mehmet Mesut Çakmak
