BBM • FEBRUARY - ŞUBAT 2026 7 NEWS HABER After the completion of the Board election process at GAFTA (The Grain and Feed Trade Association), one of the key reference institutions in global agricultural trade, Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy—Chairman of the Board of Ulusoy Un and Söke Değirmencilik, Chairman of the IAOM Eurasia Council, and Honorary Consul of Indonesia—began serving as a GAFTA Council Member. Well known in the sector for his long-standing experience in in- ternational agricultural and grain trade, Dr. Ulusoy stated that he aims to contribute to global agri- cultural trade in line with the core principles represented by GAFTA. He also expressed his gratitude to all industry stakeholders who extended their support and con- fidence throughout the election process. Within the scope of his new role on the GAFTA Board, the first Board meeting of the new term, held in conjunction with this year’s General Assembly meetings, has also been completed. This meet- ing not only marked the official start of a new term at GAFTA but also symbolized the handover of the presidency. Dr. Ulusoy thanked Paul Harrison for his valuable con- tributions to GAFTA during his term and conveyed his best wishes for success to Brian Ar- nold, who assumed the presidency, as well as to the newly appointed Board members. Sharing his views on the new term, Dr. Eren Günhan Ulu- soy expressed his hope that the upcoming period will con- tribute to building a stronger, more predictable, and cooper- ation-based framework for global agricultural trade. A Turkish signature in global agricultural trade: Ulusoy joins the GAFTA Council Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy, one of the leading figures in Türkiye’s grain sector, has been appointed as a mem- ber of the GAFTA Council. Following the Board elec- tions held by GAFTA—one of the most prominent or- ganizations in global grain and feed trade—Dr. Ulusoy officially assumed his role as Council Member. Küresel tahıl ve yem ticaretinin en önemli kuruluşlarından GAFTA’da gerçekleştirilen Yönetim Kurulu seçimlerinin ardından Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy, Konsey Üyesi olarak göreve başladı. Küresel tarım ticaretinin en önemli referans kuruluşlarından biri olan GAFTA’da (The Grain and Feed Trade Association) gerçekleştirilen Yönetim Kurulu seçim sürecinin ardından, Ulusoy Un ve Söke Değirmencilik Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı, IAOM Avrasya Konsey Başkanı ve Endonezya Fahri Konso- losu Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy, GAFTA Konsey Üyesi olarak görevine başladı. Uluslararası tarım ve tahıl ticaretinde uzun yıllara da- yanan tecrübesiyle sektörde yakından tanınan Dr. Ulusoy, GAFTA’nın temsil ettiği temel ilkeler doğrultusunda küresel tarım ticaretine katkı sağla- mayı hedeflediğini belirtti. Dr. Ulusoy, seçim süreci boyunca destek ve güvenlerini esirge- meyen tüm sektör paydaşlarına teşekkür etti. GAFTA Yönetim Kurulu’nda- ki yeni görev kapsamında, bu yıl düzenlenen Genel Kurul toplantıları çerçevesinde ger- çekleştirilen ilk Yönetim Kurulu toplantısı da tamamlandı. Söz konusu toplantı, GAFTA’da yeni dönemin resmen başlamasının yanı sıra başkanlık görevindeki devir teslim sürecini de sim- geledi. Dr. Ulusoy, görev süre- si boyunca GAFTA’ya önemli katkılar sunan Paul Harrison’a teşekkür ederken, başkanlık görevini devralan Brian Arnold’a ve yeni Yönetim Kurulu üye- lerine başarı dileklerini iletti. Yeni döneme ilişkin değerlendirmelerde bulunan Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy, önümüzdeki sürecin küresel tarım ticareti açı- sından daha güçlü, öngörülebilir ve iş birliğine dayalı bir yapı oluşturulmasına katkı sağlamasını temenni etti.
