Organised by Beşler Group at the Mehmet Şimşek Tennis Complex on 3–8 October 2026, the tournament stood out as much for the sense of together- ness in the stands as for the competition on court. Families at- tended with their children, while women and men, young and old, followed the matches, bringing tennis to a broad cross- section of the community. As guests of Beşler Group, we witnessed the event firsthand, and this inclusive atmosphere was one of its most valuable qual- ities. The players’ excitement and determination to win were matched by the spectators’ support and the time families spent together. With its spirit of peace, fellowship and mutual respect, the gathering showed that sport’s contribution to city life cannot be measured by results alone. A REGIONAL GATHERING BECOMES A SHARED EXPERIENCE Having first brought together amateur tennis players from seven cities in 2025, Beşler Cup expanded its reach to eight provinces in its second year. A total of 356 players—142 women and 214 men—from Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Adana, Mersin, Adıyaman, Hatay and Batman reinforced the tournament’s regional character. Bringing players from different cities onto the same courts created opportunities to meet and exchange experiences as well as compete. The value of such events extends beyond the trophies awarded at their conclusion. Building new relationships, learning from fellow players and involving families all contribute to the development of a sporting culture across the region. The tournament’s category structure supported this ap- proach. Matches were held in seven categories: girls and boys aged 12–18; beginner women and men aged over 18; women and men aged over 18; and men aged over 40. Giving experi- enced amateurs and newcomers a place within the same event was a valuable choice that encouraged participation. For young players and beginners in particular, experiencing a tourna- ment environment offered meaningful encouragement to stay involved in the sport. BEŞLER GROUP’S VISION TURNS CORPORATE SUPPORT INTO COMMUNITY BENEFIT A tournament bringing together participants from different cities and age groups requires strong co- ordination and thoughtful hospitality alongside its sporting programme. Beşler Group executives Zül- eyha Çakmak and Sinan Çakmak, who served as tournament directors, took on an impor- tant responsibility in making this large gathering possible. The warm, in- clusive atmosphere we observed at Beşler Cup was the clear- est expression of the effort invested in the organisation. The tournament offered a valuable example of how the private sector can contribute to community life. Turnuva özel sektörün toplumsal yaşama sağlayabileceği desteğin değerli bir örneğini sundu. Gaziantep’in üretim ve ticaretle şekillenen güçlü kimliği, Beş- ler Cup ile bu kez sporun etrafında kurulan bir buluşmaya sahne oldu. Beşler Group’un 3–8 Ekim 2026 tarihlerinde Mehmet Şim- şek Tenis Kompleksi’nde düzenlediği turnuva, kortlardaki müca- delenin yanı sıra tribünlerdeki birliktelikle de dikkat çekti. Ailelerin çocuklarıyla birlikte katıldığı, kadınların ve erkeklerin, gençlerin ve yaşlıların karşılaşmaları takip ettiği organizasyon, tenisi geniş bir sosyal çevreyle buluşturdu. Beşler Group’un davetlisi olarak yerinde takip ettiğimiz etkinli- ğin en kıymetli yönlerinden biri, bu kapsayıcı atmosferdi. Sporcu- ların kazanma heyecanına, izleyicilerin desteği ve ailelerin birlikte geçirdiği zaman eşlik etti. Barış, kardeşlik ve karşılıklı saygı duy- gularının hissedildiği buluşma, sporun şehir yaşamına katkısının yalnızca sonuç tablolarıyla ölçülemeyeceğini gösterdi. BÖLGESEL BULUŞMADAN ORTAK BIR DENEYIME: ULUSAL BOYUTTA BIR TURNUVA İlk kez 2025 yılında yedi şehirden amatör tenisçileri bir araya getiren Beşler Cup, ikinci yılında katılım alanını sekiz ile geniş- letti. Gaziantep’in yanı sıra Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Adana, Mersin, Adıyaman, Hatay ve Batman’dan gelen 142 kadın ve 214 erkek olmak üzere toplam 356 sporcu, turnuvanın bölgesel niteliğini güçlendirdi. Farklı şehirlerden sporcuların aynı kort- larda buluşması, rekabet kadar tanışma ve deneyim paylaşımı için de bir zemin oluş- turdu. Böyle organizasyonların değe- ri, turnuva sonunda verilen kupaların ötesine uzanıyor. Yeni ilişkilerin kurulması, sporcula- rın birbirinden öğrenmesi ve ailelerin bu sürece katılması, bölgedeki spor kültürü- nün gelişmesi açısından önem taşıyor. Beşler Cup’ın kategori yapısı da bu yak- laşımı destekledi. Karşılaşmalar; 12–18 yaş kızlar ve erkekler, yeni başlayan kadınlar ve erkekler için 18 yaş üstü kategoriler, 18 yaş üstü kadınlar ve erkekler ile 40 yaş üstü erkekler olmak üzere yedi kategoride düzenlendi. Deneyimli amatör- lerle tenise yeni başlayanlara aynı organizasyon içinde yer verilmesi, katılımı teşvik eden değerli bir tercihti. Özellikle gençle- rin ve yeni başlayanların turnuva ortamını deneyimlemesi, spora devam etme motivasyonları açısından anlamlıydı. KURUMSAL DESTEKTEN TOPLUMSAL FAYDAYA: BEŞLER GROUP’UN VIZYONU Farklı şehirlerden ve yaş gruplarından katılımcıları bir araya ge- tiren bir turnuva, sportif programın yanında güçlü bir koordinas- yon ve ev sahipliği anlayışı da gerektiriyor. Turnuva direktörlüğü- nü üstlenen Beşler Group Yöneticileri Züleyha Çakmak ve Sinan Çakmak, bu büyük buluşmanın hayata geçirilmesinde önemli bir sorumluluk üstlendi.
