Arda Tokat, Head of the International Entrepreneurship Department at TOBB University of Economics and Technol- ogy, evaluating the newly activated futures markets and their impacts. “WE ACCOUNT FOR APPROXIMATELY 30% OF GLOBAL FLOUR TRADE” Commenting on the event, TFIF Chairman Haluk Tezcan emphasized the importance of this congress in determining the future of the flour industry, stating: “Thanks to the sup- port of our government and relevant institutions, our inno- vative efforts, and the quality of our products, Turkish flour industrialists have maintained the position of global export leader for the past decade. With nearly 4 million tons of flour exports, we account for around 30% of global flour trade. In this year’s Expanded Sector Meeting, we will address numerous topics. With the contributions of our valuable guests, we will have the opportunity to thoroughly evalu- ate the 2024 harvest, the export bans imposed, and the op- portunities and disadvantages that arise before us. This will be an important meeting to discuss comprehensively the past and future of the process we are involved in with our government officials, Ministry of Agriculture representatives, officials from Foreign Trade, Export General Directorate, pri- vate sector representatives, NGOs, and our esteemed flour industrialists.
