BBM • JANUARY - OCAK 2025 37 Chairman of the Anatolian Licensed Warehouse Operators Association (ALDER), Mahmut Güzel, announced that Türkiye’s licensed warehouses store 6 million tons of wheat, 2 million tons of barley, and 1.5 million tons of corn, adding up to 9.5 million tons of products in total. Güzel stated, “We see licensed warehous- ing as the future of agriculture. The sector is a guarantee for our future in ensuring food security. It plays a critical role in securing the supply of agricultural products in our country.” Güzel emphasized that most of the licensed warehouses, with a total capacity of 12.1 million tons, are located in the Cen- tral Anatolia Region. “Of the total national capacity, 5.5 million tons are in Central Anatolia, with Konya taking the lead at 2.3 million tons,” he said. He also highlighted that licensed ware- houses in this province currently store 800,000 tons of wheat, 700,000 tons of barley, and 700,000 tons of corn. Pointing out that these warehouses also hold other agricultural products besides grains, Güzel said, “We store pistachios in Ga- ziantep, hazelnuts in Giresun, and cotton in Şanlıurfa. Gradually, we are expanding warehousing to include all agricultural prod- ucts.” He noted that licensed warehousing has become deeply integrated with agriculture and contributes to the modernization of the agricultural sector through technological advancements. 9.5 million tons of grains stored in licensed warehouses of Turkey Across Türkiye, licensed warehouses currently hold a total of 9.5 million tons of grains. Nearly half of the country’s 12 million-ton capacity is lo- cated in Central Anatolia, with Konya leading at 2.3 million tons. Konya ise 2,3 milyon ton kapasiteyle ilk sırada yer alıyor” diye konuştu. Güzel, lisanslı depolarda 800 bin ton buğday, 700 bin ton arpa ve 700 bin ton mısır bulunduğunu sözlerine ekledi. Depolarda hububatın yanı sıra diğer tarımsal ürünlerin de yer aldığını belirten Güzel, “Gaziantep’te fıstık, Giresun’da fın- dık, Şanlıurfa’da pamuk stokluyoruz. Yavaş yavaş depoculuğu tüm tarım ürünlerini kapsayacak şekilde genişletiyoruz.” dedi. Güzel, lisanslı depoculuğun tarımla iç içe geçmiş bir yapıya dönüştüğünü ve teknolojik yeniliklerle tarım sektörünün mo- dernleşmesine katkı sağladığını dile getirdi. Mahmut Güzel NEWS HABER
