Throughout the two-day event, the current state of the sec- tor, its risks, and future projections were comprehensively dis- cussed. The congress undertook the mission of strengthening information sharing among representatives of the public sector, private sector, and academia, while creating a common vision to increase the global competitiveness of the Turkish flour industry. Speaking at the opening of the Congress, TUSAF Chairman of the Board Mehmet Mesut Çakmak stated, “Today, we are not just holding a sectoral meeting here; we are also sharing a col- lective wisdom and vision regarding the future of food supply security and global trade. According to TUIK data, we closed the 2025 season with a wheat production of approximately 18 million tons, a 13 percent decrease compared to the previous year. Turkey proudly continues to be the world’s granary. Today, our country is not only the world’s largest flour exporter but also a reliable supplier and strategic partner contributing to food se- curity in low-income countries.” Çakmak continued his remarks as follows: “Despite high financ- ing costs, global uncertainties, and economic fluctuations in the past year, we continued to support our producers, ensure supply security in the domestic market, and maintain our leadership in exports. We successfully closed the year with an export figure of 2.4 million tons, remaining the world export leader as we have for the past 14 years. In the new trade order, profit will be based on reliability. Climate resilience, trade security, and a sustainable production approach can no longer be considered separately.” “AS LONG AS TMO DOES NOT RAISE PRICES, WE WILL NOT EITHER” Meeting with members of the press at the congress, the TUSAF President and Board members stated that as long as the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) does not increase wheat prices, they will not raise the price of flour. During the press conference, Mesut Çakmak gave striking messages on top- ics ranging from flour and bread prices to sharp fluctuations in export markets, and from the whole wheat flour regulation to harvest expectations. Drawing attention to the importance of free market conditions, Çakmak noted that the State does not directly impose a price. “The State does not say ‘sell at this price’ under any circumstances. However, when prices rise, serious public pressure builds up. We are not a sector that seeks to hike prices. We endure as much as we can,” he said, expressing the social re- sponsibility pressure on the sector. Emphasizing their efforts to keep flour prices stable despite rising costs, Çakmak identified the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) as the red line. He stated that despite a general cost increase of up to 27%, they do not plan to raise flour prices as long as TMO does not increase its prices. Chairman Çakmak’s remarks regarding the sector’s losses in the Iraqi market were particularly noteworthy. Exports to the Iraqi market, which were 77,000 tons in January last year, dropped to 8,000 tons in January this year due to implementation differ- ences between Northern Iraq and the central government. In Syria, the monthly export figure of 18,000 tons in 2025 rose to the 55,000-65,000 ton range as of 2026. Organized by the Turkish Flour Industrialists’ Federation (TUSAF), which gathers insti- tutions and organizations operating in the flour sector under one roof, the 20th International Congress and Exhibition witnessed intense participation in Antalya. Un sektöründe faaliyet gösteren kurum ve kuruluşları tek çatı altında toplayan Türkiye Un Sanayi- cileri Federasyonu (TUSAF) tarafından düzenlenen 20. Uluslararası Kongre ve Sergisi Antalya’da yoğun katılıma sahne oldu. 12-15 Şubat 2026 tarihleri arasında, “İklim Dayanıklılığı ve Ticaretin Geleceği” temasıyla Kaya Palazzo Belek Otel’de gerçekleştirilen kongre; 1.400’ü aşkın ulusal ve uluslararası delege ile 500’den fazla firmayı bir araya getirdi. İki gün boyunca sektörün mevcut durumu, riskleri ve ge- lecek projeksiyonlarının kapsamlı şekilde ele alındığı kongre; kamu, özel sektör ve akademi temsilcileri arasında bilgi pay- laşımını güçlendirmeyi ve Türk un sanayisinin küresel rekabet gücünü artırmaya yönelik ortak bir vizyon oluşturma misyonu üstlendi. Kongre’nin açılışında konuşan TUSAF Yönetim Kurulu Baş- kanı Mehmet Mesut Çakmak, “Bugün burada yalnızca bir sektör buluşması gerçekleştirmiyoruz; aynı zamanda gıda arz güvenliğinin ve küresel ticaretin geleceğine dair ortak bir aklı ve vizyonu da paylaşıyoruz. TÜİK verilerine göre 2025 sezonunu bir önceki yıla göre yüzde 13 azalma ile yaklaşık 18 milyon ton buğday üretimi gerçekleştirerek kapattık. Tür- kiye dünyanın un ambarı olmayı gururla sürdürüyor. Ülkemiz bugün sadece dünyanın en büyük un ihracatçısı değil; aynı zamanda düşük gelirli ülkelerde gıda güvenliğine katkı sağ- layan, güvenilir bir tedarikçi ve stratejik bir ortak konumun- dadır” dedi. Çakmak sözlerine şöyle devam etti; “Geride bıraktığımız yıl yüksek finansman maliyetlerine, küresel belirsizliklere ve ekonomik dalgalanmalara rağmen üreticimizi desteklemeye, iç piyasada arz güvenliğini sağlamaya ve ihracattaki liderli- ğimizi sürdürmeye devam ettik ve yılı 2,4 milyon ton ihracat rakamı ile son 14 yıldır olduğu gibi dünya ihracat lideri olarak kapatmayı başardık. Yeni ticaret düzeninde kazanç güveni- lirlik üzerinden olacaktır. İklim dayanıklılığı, ticaret güvenliği ve sürdürülebilir üretim anlayışı artık birbirinden ayrı düşü- nülemez.” “TMO ZAM YAPMADIKÇA BİZ DE YAPMAYACAĞIZ” Kongrede basın mensuplarıyla bir araya gelen TUSAF Başkanı ve Yöne- tim Kurulu üyeleri, TMO buğday fiyatını artırmadıkça kendilerinin de una zam yapmayacaklarını söyledi. Mesut Çak- mak, basın toplantısında, un ve ekmek fiyatlarından ihracat pazarlarındaki sert dalgalanmalara, tam buğday unu düzen- lemesinden rekolte beklentisine kadar bozan mesajlar verdi. Serbest piyasa koşullarının önemine dikkat çeken Çakmak, Devletin doğ- rudan bir fiyat dayatması yapmadığını belirtti. “Devlet her halükârda ‘şu fiyata satın’ demiyor. Ama fiyat yükseldiğinde kamuoyunda ciddi bir baskı oluşuyor. Biz zamcı bir sektör değiliz. Dayanabildiği- miz kadar dayanıyoruz,” diyerek sektö- rün üzerindeki sosyal sorumluluk baskı- sını dile getirdi. Maliyet artışlarına rağmen un fiyatlarını sabit tutma gayre- tinde olduklarını vurgulayan Çakmak, kırmızı çizgiyi Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi (TMO) olarak belirledi. %27’ye varan genel maliyet artışına rağmen, TMO fiyat artırmadığı sürece una zam yapmayı planlamadıklarını ifade etti. Başkan Çakmak, özellikle sektörün Irak pazarındaki kayıp- larıyla ilgili yaptığı paylaşım dikkat çekti. Irak pazarında geçen yıl ocak ayında 77 bin ton olan ihracat, Kuzey Irak ve merkezi hükümet arasındaki uygulama farkları nedeniyle bu yıl Ocak ayında 8 bin tona kadar geriledi. Suriye’de ise 2025 yılında aylık 18 bin ton olan ihracat rakamı, 2026 itibarıyla 55-65 bin ton bandına çıktı. NEWS HABER
