Stating that annual global grain production exceeded 3 bil- lion tons for the first time this season, but that there has been a decrease in wheat and barley production in the domestic mar- ket for the last two seasons, Güldal said, “We are self-sufficient in wheat and barley in a normal season; however, in case of harvest loss, strong TMO stocks are a guarantee against supply shocks.” Güldal shared the following information regarding the grain sales TMO has been conducting at fixed prices to relevant sec- tors since October for the purpose of market regulation: “In or- der to prevent the rise in feed raw material prices in particular, we opened 4 million tons of grain for sale in February. As of Feb- ruary, we started corn sales to meet the raw material needs of poultry farmers and livestock breeders. We began selling barley to feed mills in October, and corn as well as low-quality bread and pasta wheat in February.” Reminding that the February sales schedule was moved for- ward to enable the sector to obtain raw materials quickly, Gen- eral Manager Ahmet Güldal emphasized that there would be no extension for wheat sales. Stating that a new application will be launched as of Febru- ary 17 to support market functioning and more effectively meet the raw material needs of industrialists, Güldal expressed that stocks in licensed warehouses, prioritized for sale, will be of- fered freely to the market via the TÜRİB Platform in a way that appeals to all regions across the country. Noting that with this application, the additional raw material needs of industrialists who cannot obtain all of their requested products through existing channels will be met regardless of actual consumption, our General Manager stated that stocks planned for liquidation by the Turkish Grain Board will also be offered to the market. He stated that this aims to ensure the uninterrupted supply of products to the market. “A QUITE GOOD HARVEST CAN BE EXPECTED” Stating that there has been a significant increase in the plant- ing of barley and bread wheat in winter grain sowings, TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal said, “A narrowing trend is ob- served in the planting of durum wheat, cotton, and corn. The increase in fallow areas in Central Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia is striking. If climatic conditions proceed favorably in the spring months, a quite good harvest can be expected in wheat and barley.” Emphasizing that production and the producer are at the cen- ter of all activities carried out, Güldal stated that the current glob- al environment necessitates proactive public policies and said that TMO has promptly implemented the measures required to establish supply security. Underlining that TMO stocks are at high levels, Güldal said, “We will not allow a perception of scarcity in our country regard- ing raw material supply. The imports made are largely aimed at strengthening our carry-over stocks. There is an expectation of a customs duty reduction in some parts of the sector, but there is no need for this at this stage. We care about products being planted in areas where they are productive. Güldal, TMO’nun piyasa regülasyonu amacıyla ekim ayın- dan bu yana ilgili sektörlere sabit fiyatlarla gerçekleştirdiği hububat satışlarına ilişkin şu bilgileri paylaştı: “Özellikle yem hammaddesi fiyatlarındaki yükselişin önüne geçmek amacıyla şubat ayında 4 milyon ton hububatı satışa açtık. Şubat ayından itibaren kanatlı hayvan yetiştiricileri ile besicilerin hammadde ihtiyacını karşılamak üzere mısır satışlarına başladık. Yem fab- rikalarına ekim ayından itibaren arpa; şubat ayından itibaren ise mısır ile düşük vasıflı ekmeklik ve makarnalık buğday sa- tışlarını başlattık.” Genel Müdür Ahmet Güldal, Şubat ayı satış takviminin sek- törün hammadde teminini kısa sürede sağlayabilmek amacıy- la öne çekildiğini hatırlatarak, buğday satışlarında süre uzatı- mına gidilmeyeceğini vurguladı. Piyasa işleyişini desteklemek ve sanayicilerin hammadde teminine yönelik ihtiyaçlarını daha etkin şekilde karşılamak amacıyla 17 Şubat itibarıyla yeni bir uygulamanın hayata ge- çirileceğini belirten Güldal, lisanslı depolarda bulunan ve sa- tışı öncelikli olarak değerlendirilen stokların, ülke genelindeki tüm bölgelere hitap edecek şekilde TÜRİB Platformu üzerin- den serbest olarak piyasaya sunulacağını ifade etti. Söz konusu uygulama ile birlikte, talep ettiği ürünün tama- mını mevcut kanallar üzerinden temin edemeyen sanayicile- rin ilave hammadde ihtiyacının, fiili tüketime bağlı olmaksızın karşılanacağını kaydeden Genel Müdürümüz, bu kapsamda Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi tarafından tasfiye edilmesi planlanan stokların da piyasaya arz edileceğini belirtti. Böylece piyasaya ürün arzının kesintisiz bir şekilde sürdürülmesinin hedeflendi- ğini dile getirdi. “OLDUKÇA İYİ BİR REKOLTE BEKLENEBİLİR” Kışlık hububat ekilişlerinde arpa ve ekmeklik buğday lehi- ne belirgin biçimde bir artış gerçekleştiğini ifade eden TMO Genel Müdürü Ahmet Güldal, “Makarnalık buğday, pamuk ve mısır ekilişlerinde daralma eğilimi gözlenmektedir. İç Anado- lu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu’da nadas alanlarındaki artış dikkat çekmektedir. İklim koşulları bahar aylarında olumlu seyreder- se buğday ve arpada oldukça iyi bir rekolte beklenebilir” dedi. Yürütülen tüm faaliyetlerin merkezinde üretimin ve üre- ticinin bulunduğunu vurgulayan Güldal, mevcut küresel or- tamın proaktif kamu politikalarını gerekli kıldığını belirterek, TMO’nun arz güvenliğinin tesis edilmesi için gereken tedbir- leri ivedilikle hayata geçirdiğini söyledi. TMO stoklarının yüksek seviyede olduğunun altını çizen Güldal “Hammadde arzı açısından ülkemizde bir yokluk algı- sına müsaade etmeyiz. Yapılan ithalatlar büyük ölçüde devir stoklarımızın güçlendirilmesine yöneliktir. Sektörün bir kıs- mında gümrük vergisi indirimi beklentisi bulunuyor ancak şu aşamada buna ihtiyaç yok. Ürünlerin verimli olduğu alanlarda ekilmesini önemsiyoruz. Bu nedenle yeni sezonda fiyat poli- tikamızı bu çerçevede yeniden değerlendireceğiz” ifadelerini kullandı. NEWS HABER
