Turkey's agricultural exports increased by 4.5
percent to 8 billion 626 million dollars in January-March 2023. The figure was
recorded as the highest first quarter exports of all time.
According to data released by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey's exports increased by 2.5 percent in January-February-March 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 61,587 million dollars. Turkey's agricultural exports reached an all-time high first-quarter export figure of $8,626 million.
In January-February-March 2023, the agricultural sector recorded an export increase of 4.5 percent compared to the same period of the last year, and its share in Turkey's total exports was 14 percent. Cereals, pulses, oil seeds, and products, fresh fruits and vegetables, olives and olive oil, ornamental plants and products, furniture, paper, and forestry products in the agricultural group reached a record in exports.
The highest first quarter exports of all time took place with 2,944 million dollars in cereals, pulses, oilseeds, and products, with 941,524 thousand dollars in fresh fruits and vegetables, with 294,754 thousand dollars in olive and olive oil, with 48,452 thousand dollars in ornamental plants and products, with 1,962 million dollars in furniture, paper and forestry products.
In the said period; cereals, pulses, oilseeds, and products increased exports by 7.9 percent, fresh fruits and vegetables by 23.4 percent, olives and olive oil by 156.7 percent, ornamental plants and products by 7.4 percent, furniture, paper and forestry products by 1.6 percent.
Meanwhile; cereals, pulses, oil seeds and products realized the highest monthly exports of all time in March with 1,127 million dollars and ornamental plants and products with 18,306 thousand dollars.
