Black Sea Bread Cup to take place in Moscow

Black Sea Bread Cup «Baking without borders» will take place in Moscow on November the 17 th,18th  and 19 th 2021 , on the territory of VDNH, in pavilion 40 (School of Bakers).

Initiator and Organizer of the Event – Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners (RBC). The event is carried out under the auspices of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, OPORA ROSSII.

Members of BSEC are 13 countries of the region (Republic of Albania, Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Republic of Serbia, Ukraine, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Bulgaria, Hellenic Republic, Republic of North Macedonia, Russian Federation, Republic of Turkey) and 13 more countries are observers.

There is no relevant competition in the Black Sea Region where the teams from different countries can demonstrate their abilities in bakery and exchange best practices.

 So, the competition itself  and establishing of business connections of bakers will be very useful for entrepreneurs engaged in small and medium size bakery and confectionery industries

Participants will have a chance to learn and respect each other’s cultural traditions. This event will help to establish friendship and understanding between different nations and nationalities.

It’s worth noting that the project was endorsed by the Meeting of the BSEC Working Group on SMEs (12 November, 2020).

 Participants compete in real time in 5 categories:

  1. BREAD
  2. SWEET DOUGH
  3. ARTISTIC PIECE
  4. SHOP-WINDOW DECORATION
  5. GOOD WORKING PRACTICES

When finishing their work, the competing teams present their products to the international professional jury, which will consist of recognized professional bakers.

The winners will get medals, cups and diplomas. Turkey, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Moldova, Russia have confirmed their participation. We still expect  Ukraine and Belorussia to confirm their participation. Awarding ceremony will take place on the 19th of November, 2021.
