The Turkish Competition Board took back the group exemption right granted to UNMAŞ which produces bread and bakery products under the UNO brand.

In the statement made by the Competition Authority, it was announced that the exemption decision that there is no need for an investigation of the agreements with the dealers regarding providing for their own products have been removed.

It was reminded that the attempts of UNMAŞ, which produces bread and bakery products under the UNO brand, to be sold as a single brand at retail outlets without including its competitors, previously benefited from the group exemption within the framework of the relevant legislation. On the other hand, it was noted that during the period when this exemption was granted to the company, investigations were continued at the same time and opinions, documents and information were collected from other companies and retail sales points in the industrial packaged bread market.

Analysis and evaluations were made with the available data, and as a result, it was announced that the Competition Board deduced that UNMAŞ has an important market power, that a single sale request may close the market to other brands and manufacturers, and that the exemption has been removed.
