Bringing the rich flavors of Anatolia to today’s tables
in a practical and delicious way, Aktaşlar Lezzet Group introduces consumers to
the deep-rooted tastes of Turkish cuisine. Leveraging cold chain technology to
freeze products at minus 40 degrees and delivering them to the global market in
line with international quality standards, Aktaşlar Lezzet Group is setting
itself apart in the industry. The company also stands out with its zero-waste
goals and eco-friendly projects. By using energy-efficient machinery, it saves
an average of 20–30% in energy annually and recycles 100–150 tons of waste each
year.
Combining the indispensable flavors of traditional Turkish cuisine with a modern production infrastructure, Aktaşlar Lezzet Group is becoming a strong player both in the local market and internationally with its frozen pita, pizza, and lahmacun products. With a production approach centered on food safety, sustainability, and innovation, Aktaşlar Lezzet Group implements exemplary projects ranging from cold chain technologies to zero-waste practices.
“We Combined Stone Oven Flavor with Industrial Excellence
and Earned a Zero-Waste Certificate”
Tamer Aktaş, Chairman of the Board of Aktaşlar Lezzet Group, stated that their production process blends traditional taste with modern technology through high-capacity tunnel ovens that emulate the effect of a stone oven, which he described as a key element that distinguishes the company from its competitors. Highlighting the role of hygienic packaging lines in maximizing product shelf life and safety, Aktaş said:
“We are steadily advancing toward our sustainable production goals thanks to infrastructure equipped with inverter compressors, heat recovery systems, and smart sensors for energy efficiency. At our production facilities, we separate waste at the source, monitor it with digital tracking systems, and engage all our employees in the process, which enabled us to receive the Zero-Waste Certificate. Through this effort, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also foster a shared environmental consciousness among our staff. Additionally, we ensure the quality and safety of our products through full compliance with international BRC and IFS standards.”
“We Reduce Our Carbon Footprint with Energy-Efficient
Machinery”
Aktaş emphasized that they have installed separate collection systems for paper, plastic, glass, metal, and organic waste across all their facilities as part of their sustainability initiatives.
“We achieve an average annual energy saving of 20–30% through energy-efficient machinery. We recycle 100–150 tons of waste per year. We dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations and reduce our carbon footprint with LED lighting and efficient machines. Our project to install solar panels on our rooftops will accelerate our transition to renewable energy. Once operational, our solar panels are expected to generate approximately 140,000 to 160,000 kilowatt-hours of energy annually. In our supply chain, we minimize environmental impact with eco-friendly packaging and low-emission logistics solutions.”
“We Develop Recipes that Appeal to Diverse Regional
Palates”
Minel Özel Akpınar, Quality Department Manager of Aktaşlar Lezzet Group, said that they shock-freeze products at minus 40 degrees to deliver them to consumers with their original freshness.
She explained that by integrating -40°C shock-freezing and smart temperature monitoring systems into their cold chain technologies, they preserve product freshness from production to delivery:
“These systems provide full protection against temperature fluctuations and optimize shelf life. In our R&D processes, while preserving traditional flavors, we also develop recipes that appeal to different regional palates. We prioritize consumer expectations, sustainable production, and suitability for global markets. To enhance energy efficiency, we implement eco-friendly practices ranging from refrigerants to insulation technologies.
Thanks to the speed and cost advantages offered by the cold chain, we provide flexible and effective solutions to global markets. Our high-quality, multilayer packaging protects our products from air, moisture, and odor, significantly extending shelf life. Depending on the product type, multilayer packaging increases shelf life by 30% to 100%. For example, a product with a seven-day shelf life can last up to 14 days with multilayer packaging. Our integrated cold chain system accelerates our logistics processes, offers cost advantages, and enables us to respond flexibly to the demands of different countries. Moreover, our multilayer, barrier-featured packaging protects products from air, moisture, and odor, extending shelf life and strengthening brand reliability.”
