Richardson International Limited, one of Canada’s leading agriculture and food companies, has announced the completion of its acquisition of the pasta business owned by 8th Avenue Food & Provisions. The transaction, initially disclosed on August 29, 2025, was finalized following the receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals.

The acquisition includes a durum milling and pasta production facility located in Carrington, North Dakota, as well as two pasta manufacturing plants in New Hope, Minnesota and Winchester, Virginia, along with the Ronzoni® brand. These operations further strengthen the company’s existing vertically integrated supply chain spanning Canada and the United States.

Through this expansion, Richardson aims to effectively manage the entire value chain—from sourcing durum wheat and producing semolina to manufacturing finished pasta and serving retail, private label, foodservice, and industrial customers. The company emphasized that it will continue to invest in innovation and pursue growth opportunities within the pasta market.

Commenting on the acquisition, Darwin Sobkow, President and CEO of Richardson International, underscored the strategic significance of the transaction:

“This step perfectly aligns with our vision to deliver high value-added food ingredients through a fully integrated supply chain that connects farm to table across North America. We have strengthened our position in the durum value chain while expanding our production capacity to better serve retail, industrial and foodservice markets. We remain focused on the long-term success of this business and will continue investing in our facilities, our people, and the partnerships that generate sustainable value.”
