Within the scope of 25 October World Pasta Day events, more than 3 million plates of pasta were donated to charity organizations for preventing hunger across the world. Turkish Pasta Industrialists Association (MÜSAD) donated 100 tons of pasta within the scope of the organization.

World Pasta Day was celebrated with events having been organized each year on 25 October since 1998 in order to stress the importance of pasta which provides nutrition to the world with economic, healthy and tasteful foods. In the events of World Pasta Day organized in Sao Paolo city of Brazil, Turkish Pasta Industrialists Association (MÜSAD) were represented by Murat Bozkurt, the Member of the Executive Board.
Within the scope of events, results of the organization executed throughout the year with the name of “Power of Pasta” under the leadership of IPO gathering pasta producers of the world under single roof were shared. With the organization in which the importance of pasta in the fight against hunger was stressed, more than 3 million plates of pasta were donated to the world-wide charity organizations which fight hunger.
MÜSAD, a member of IPO, has donated about 100 tonnes of pasta to charity organizations with various NGOs within the scope of the organization since the beginning of 2017. Pointing out that 815 million people are suffering from hunger across the world in 2016 according to the data of the UN, Nihat Uysallı, the Chairman of MÜSAD stated that the incentive conducted under the leadership of IPO is a good example that world’s pasta producers act with the sense of responsibility. Uysallı pointed out that they contributed to efforts for putting an end to hunger which is one of the most important topics among Sustainable Development Targets of the United Nations.
