According to the announced pricing
schedule, a 250-gram Ramadan pita will be sold at TRY 25 in Istanbul and
Ankara. Accordingly, the maximum kilogram price of Ramadan pita has been capped
at TRY 100.
With only days remaining until the start of Ramadan, the 2026 Ramadan pita prices have been officially announced by the Turkish Bakers’ Federation. As stated by the Federation’s President, Halil İbrahim Balcı, the maximum retail prices to be applied in Istanbul, Ankara and many other provinces have now been finalized.
The pricing, which will be valid throughout the Ramadan period starting on 19 February 2026, was determined by taking into account production costs, inflationary conditions and consumers’ purchasing power. The Federation emphasized that a balanced approach to pricing has once again been adopted this year.
Under the announced tariff, 250-gram Ramadan pita bread will be offered for sale at TRY 25 in Istanbul and Ankara, with the kilogram price capped at a maximum of TRY 100. In major metropolitan areas, the retail price of 350-gram Ramadan pita has been set at TRY 35.
Turkish Bakers’ Federation President Halil İbrahim Balcı noted that Ramadan pita prices for 2026 represent an average increase of approximately 23 percent compared to the previous year, attributing the rise primarily to higher flour, energy and labor costs.

The tariffs, prepared in coordination with the Federation and relevant local tradesmen’s chambers, are expected to be implemented nationwide within a largely standard framework for weight and pricing, although minor provincial variations may occur. It was underlined that both producer sustainability and consumer accessibility were taken into consideration in determining Ramadan pita prices.
Authorities also emphasized that price and weight inspections will be carried out by the relevant institutions throughout the Ramadan period, and that sales above the officially set maximum prices will not be permitted.
