Ankara Halk Ekmek increases production to promote health

Bread Factory of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality produces gluten free bread for allergic people. Halk Ekmek (Bread for Public) produces special products for gluten sensitive citizens suffering from celiac disease. Halk Ekmek sells those products via its kiosks.

Bread Factory of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its service centered operations. Halk Ekmek (Bread for Public) produces special products for allergic people. Halk Ekmek produces healthy food for phenylketonuria and gluten sensitive citizens suffering from celiac disease.

Ingredients of those special products are formulated by academics from Hacettepe University, also based in Ankara and they are controlled by food engineers of Halk Ekmek factory. Gluten-free products are produced every Tuesday and Wednesday and sold in Halk Emek kiosks all over the capital city. Gluten-free flour, bread, cookie and snacks are available at these kiosks. Halk Ekmek also aims to develop new gluten-free products by research and development activities.

Ankara Halk Ekmek General Manager Ahmet Sarıduman said that they are very sensitive to produce various types of gluten-free products. He added: “Public health in Ankara is crucial and valuable for us. We spare no effort to produce healthy food for everyone and we are also eager to add new items to our product line. Our next target is to produce gluten-free simit. We want to have a wider product line with healthy and safe food. We will share good news soon.”
