Barilla is sharing its success in pasta with sauce. Having decided to expand its investment in order to meet high sales performance of pasta sauce throughout the world, Barilla has become one of the leaders of Turkish market while qualifying for the third place in the world market.

Being a leader for a long time in Turkish pasta market with a share of over 30 percent, Barilla Gıda has increased its share in sauce market up to 60 percentage. Chairman of Executive Board of Barilla Gıda, Güneş Karababa pointed out that reaching to 500 tonnes in sauce market which was 250 tonnes in Turkey 5 years ago is a huge success for both Barilla and the sector, and also emphasized that sauce produced with creative recipes of the world famous Barilla chefs are highly appreciated. Güneş Karababa stated that Turkish sauce market has started to grow as in other countries with practical uses and said: “We are glad to increase the level of our third place in the world to the level of 60 percent in Turkey, and thank our consumers.”
SUPERMARKETS HAVE 65 PERCENT OF SALES
Karababa stated that sales are mostly made in Marmara, Aegean and Central Anatolia regions, and continued: “Supermarkets have 65 percent of sales made in Turkey. We have achieved growth in the sauce market due to the fact that sauces are consumed by householders. We have been able to catch a good sales chart by distinguishing from our competitors in sauce appealing to taste buds such as Pesto, as well as tomato sauce. Wide product range in sauce has increased our pasta sales.”
WORLD CLASS RAW MATERIAL
Stating that the most important secret of Barilla’s expanding its market share with pasta sauce market, is quality production with world class raw material, Günel Karababa said, “In addition to our raw materials of which quality are registered through activities that we conduct with local producers and farmers, we are sustaining our growth thanks to our technology and production approach. Our products none of which contain coloring agents and additives enable us to prepare perfect recipes easily and practically.”
