The ISO 500 report continues to serve as a key reference point for understanding the position of Turkish industry within the current economic context. Companies producing flour, pasta, and starch—cornerstones of the food sector—remain vital contributors to Turkey’s industrial strength.

The Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) has released the 2024 results of its “Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises” survey, an initiative it has conducted annually since 1968 without interruption. The report, presented to the public by ISO Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan, provides a detailed overview of Turkish industry’s performance in 2024. While highlighting the effects of global economic challenges and Turkey’s disinflationary policies on the industrial landscape, the study draws particular attention to the strong showing of companies in the flour, pasta, and starch segments of the food sector.

In the 2024 ISO 500 list, the food sector was notably well-represented, especially by companies producing flour, pasta, and starch. These firms earned significant placements thanks to their production output, sales figures, and economic contributions. The essential nature of food products has helped these companies maintain their positions on the list consistently, with several climbing in the rankings.

According to the report, firms in the flour, pasta, biscuit, starch, and yeast industries play a critical role both in the domestic market and in exports. However, high financial costs and the impact of inflation accounting on balance sheets present major challenges for these companies. ISO Chairman Bahçıvan emphasized that a significant portion of industrial companies’ profits had to be allocated to financing expenses. Despite this, many food sector firms managed to preserve their operational profitability.

Flour, Pasta, and Starch Producers in the 2024 List

Below is a list of companies from the flour, pasta, and starch sectors that were included in the ISO 500 for 2024. This data is based on official figures published on the Istanbul Chamber of Industry’s website (www.iso.org.tr).

According to the ISO 500 2024 report, the food sector holds a substantial share in Turkey’s industrial production. Flour, pasta, biscuit, and starch companies play a vital role in meeting the domestic demand for staple foods and in supporting export activities. However, the report notes that high financing costs and a slowdown in global demand are negatively impacting these firms’ profit margins. Nevertheless, the rise of some companies in the rankings highlights the sector’s resilience and adaptability.

Beşler Un shared the following message on its social media platforms:
“The tradition continues! As in the past 23 years, we’ve secured our place in Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises list, this year ranking 363rd. As a leader in our sector, we’re proud to represent our heroic city, and we thank all our employees who contributed to this success!”
