With over a century of experience in the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate sectors, Puratos, which offers innovative products to the artisan, industrial, food service, and retail sectors, has announced its commitment to switching to sustainable packaging solutions.
Puratos, which provides products and solutions to the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate industries, has taken action to use sustainable packaging. Bora Akın, General Manager of Puratos Turkey, stated that as a responsible food company, they are aware of the importance of minimizing environmental impact, and for this purpose, they have made the transition to sustainable packaging a priority. Bora Akın said, “Considering the size of Puratos’ global network and the diversity of its products, this is a significant effort. We are focusing on reducing the environmental footprint of our products and, more broadly, our organization for a better and more sustainable future.”
The company, which emphasized that sustainable packaging is at the core of its sustainability efforts, aims to make its packaging materials reusable or recyclable by the end of 2025 to minimize its environmental footprint. The company predicts that the packaging materials, which will be produced with a uniform design, unbleached paper, and single-color printing, will have benefits such as using up to 70% less ink, energy consumption, and waste.
Puratos is also working on extensive improvements, including using fewer chemicals and energy through a more sustainable production process as part of its commitments to a better world. Expressing pride in being part of the movement to create a more sustainable world, Bora Akın, General Manager of Puratos Turkey, said, "We will continue to develop innovative solutions to make a difference."
