The Machinery Exporters’ Union (MAİB) elected its new chairman at an ordinary general assembly. Kutlu Karavelioğlu, new chairman of the MAIB, has taken the post from Adnan Dalgakıran who had been holding it for twelve years.
The Machinery Exporters’ Union (MAIB), the only body that represents more than ten thousands machinery exporters in Turkey and operates under ‘Turkey’s Machineries’ brand, carried out its ordinary general assembly with election in Ankara. During the general assembly, Vice President Kutlu Karavelioğlu was elected as president while the half of the board of directors has been changed.
The new president said that the machinery sector has increased exports by about $ 1.7 billion in 2001 to 9 times with investments and effective publicity efforts in the last 16 years. He noted that 2018 export target was set at 18 billion dollars. “The Turkish machinery industry shows great solidarity with the importance it attaches to the sectoral organization. All of the twenty-two sub-sectors have established their associations and have gained active lobbying power both at home and abroad under the roof of our exporting union and federation, which they came together with. As in all our elections today, we have taken over the task with our friends who have worked for their sub-sectors for many years and have contacted this culture. Our efforts will continue with the experience and contributions of our full and non-permanent members that are newly included. Our exports, which have exceeded 15 billion today, will run to new records,” Karavelioğlu said.
Adnan Dalgakıran said that he is happy and relieved that he handed over the post to a new management that knows the sector well. Dalgakıran held the position for 12 years.
