Özgen Nama was appointed as Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Public Bread Co. (Halk Ekmek A.Ş.), one of the biggest affiliates of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Özgen Nama, Acting Chairman of Public Bread Co., who was appointed by Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, issued a thank you message after his appointment. Nama emphasized “equal service, fair order” in his message and stated that this principle will be their basic principles. Underlining that the production will be made for the people and shared fairly, the message of Nama is as follows:

In this path, which I have been walking for 26 years with the motto “Fair society, production for the people and fair sharing”; the fact that I have been appointed as the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Public Bread (IHE) will be the beginning of a new period for all of us. We will immediately implement Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu’s directive to “facilitate access to public bread”. We will work round the clock to fulfill the promise that we will fight poverty during the election process of Mr. Imamoglu. I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, who initially deemed me worthy of this duty, to every member of the Republican People's Party family, whom I have been struggling shoulder to shoulder for 26 years, and to all my traveling companions who believe in me and walk with me. Starting out with the motto “Bread is for everyone” and “Bread for Istanbulites is labor”, IHE started bread production on August 26, 1978. It produces healthy hygienic and economical bread and bakery products for Istanbulites. Playing an active role in establishing the quality standard and regulating market prices, IHE also contributes economically to our citizens. Today, it is possible to reach Public Bread in every district of Istanbul. ”
