The demand for gluten-free products is steadily increasing in Turkey and the world. Several companies started to focus their investments in the gluten-free segment which is expected to reach a market volume of 15 billion dollars.

ABP Gida is the representative agent of grains, flour, and feed quality control firms Chopin, DICKEY-john, Perten, and Pfeuffer in Turkey. The company brought a brand new tool for gluten-free products. “The new tool called Mixolab2, procured from France based Chopin and it is used to check the quality of the flour,” said ABP Gida Sales and Application Engineer Duygu Altun. “Mixolab2 enables quantifying protein and starch content of flour and ground wheat by a single test,” she added. Duygu Altun stressed that gluten consumption is linked with many health problems including celiac disease, some skin diseases, neurological disorders, depression, migraine, autism, and obesity: Therefore gluten-free diets have become popular. We need gluten-free products to cover all consumers with different needs. The Mixolab2 tool helps you to maintain high quality, to promote your products, and save money and time. The Mixolab2 enables quantifying protein and starch content of flour (grain-based or lentil-based) and ground wheat by a single test. It also enables us to analyze many other parameters like dough forming, quality of protein bindings, stability, elasticity, gelatinization temperature of starch, amylase activity, the shelf life of the final product, change in dough strength with different additives and so on.”
