ISO President Erdal Bahçıvan stated that coronavirus is a multidimensional threat and will damage the global economy.
Erdal Bahçıvan, President of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), said that the increase in geopolitical tensions especially focused on Iran, Syria, and Libya has shadowed the positive atmosphere in the global markets since the beginning of the year. Bahçıvan pointed out that the coronavirus epidemic that emerged in China and spread to all over the world in a short time, dragged the world to new darkness, and said that the health problem and the humanitarian aspect caused by the virus were very concerning. Bahçıvan stated that it is very difficult to anticipate the possible effects of the epidemic on the global economy since it is not known how long it will last and to what extent it will spread and underlined that it is clear that the virus will erode the global economy. Bahçıvan also highlighted that the coronavirus is a multi-dimensional threat.
