Eksun Gıda, one of Turkey’s leading flour producers, has taken a significant step in its sustainability journey with a major investment in green energy. The company has signed an agreement with Nordex Group for the supply of turbines for its wind power plants, which will have a total installed capacity of 18.9 MW.

Committed to creating sustainable value for all stakeholders, Eksun Gıda continues to invest in renewable energy. The company had previously announced that it received a grid connection agreement for the construction of a wind power plant (WPP) with a total capacity of 18.9 MW under the Unlicensed Electricity Generation Regulation in the Electricity Market. Now, taking a crucial step forward, Eksun Gıda has finalized an agreement with wind turbine designer and manufacturer Nordex Group for the supply of turbines for its planned 7 MW and 11.9 MW wind power plants.

Commenting on the agreement, Ahmet Demir, Chairman of Eksim Gıda Group and General Manager of Eksun Gıda, stated that they continue to integrate Eksim Holding’s renewable energy vision into the food sector. He emphasized, “The €14.1 million contract we signed stands as a tangible testament to our commitment to green transformation. Under this agreement, which covers two wind power plants to be implemented within the scope of unlicensed production, 15% of the total contract value has been paid as an advance from our company’s internal resources. As Eksun Gıda, while supplying one of the most essential food products—flour—to more than 30 countries, we are also deeply aware of our responsibilities to the world we live in. In line with this awareness, we prioritize investments that create value for both people and the environment, backed by our strong institutional culture and solid financial structure.”

Demir, further stated that once the project is completed, they plan to supply any surplus energy generated to the market.
