Flour milling pioneer Mesut Çakmak takes the helm at TUSAF

The Turkish Flour Industrialists’ Federation (TUSAF) held its Ordinary General Assembly at the ATO Congresium in Ankara, where delegates elected the new Board of Directors for the 2025–2028 term. In a key outcome of the meeting, Mehmet Mesut Çakmak, Chairman of the Board at Beşler Group and head of the Southeastern Flour Industrialists’ Association, was elected Chairman of the Federation for a three-year term.

The General Assembly, which saw strong participation from the eight regional associations affiliated with TUSAF and their member delegates, also marked a leadership transition at the helm of the Federation. Çakmak took over the chairmanship from Haluk Tezcan, who had successfully led TUSAF over the past three years.

At the first Board of Directors meeting following the General Assembly, Çakmak—affectionately known in the industry as “Brother Mesut”—was officially appointed Chairman. The new leadership team also includes Vice Chairmen Veysi Duyan (President, Dicle Flour Industrialists’ Association), Ahmet Ergin Okandeniz (President, Marmara Flour Industrialists’ Association), and Bekir Bağış (President, Çukurova Flour Industrialists’ Association).

Other key appointments include Alp Eskiyapan, Treasurer of the Anatolia Flour Industrialists’ Association, as TUSAF’s new Treasurer, and Yüksel Tezcan, Vice President of the Aegean Flour Industrialists’ Association, as Secretary.

TUSAF also announced the full list of principal board members for the 2025–2028 term:

The newly elected Audit Committee members are Turgay Bozkurt, Ferruh Köknel, and Merve Göksu.
