Italian Milling Technology is back on the top of Europe

Omas has completed the most technological milling plant in Europe - 900 tons/day. The plant is located in Paris and was commissioned by Soufflet - Invivo Group, world leader in the production and processing of cereals. An ultra-modern mill for a reduced carbon footprint, energy saving and flour purity.

Italian genius stands out during the inauguration of the largest and most technological milling plant in Paris. The new 4.0 mill was commissioned by Soufflet - Groupe Invivo, European leader in the transformation and digitization of the entire agricultural supply chain in France.

The satisfaction for the completed work is highlighted by the brilliant achievement of the strict contractual parameters in terms of energy consumption, flour extraction and plant efficiency. The final result exceeded the customers' expectations regarding the purity of flour to protect the health of consumers.

Soufflet Corbeil-Essonnes mill was born along the banks of La Seine river, inside a concrete structure built from scratch and is equipped with the highest Omas technologies, including KERS - Kinematic Energy Recovery System and DD - Direct Drive.

Designed on 5 floors inside a completely new building and equipped with the latest technology, this new mill brings together the latest possible innovations in the milling field, being at the same time automated, computerized, connected and digitalized (4.0). This new production pole, equipped with a cutting-edge grinding process allows to meet the new demands of customers of Moulins Soufflet: a diversified flour offer, from T38 to T65 and the guarantee of new standards of quality management, energy and food safety.


KERS, a world patent of Omas, allows to decrease energy costs, reducing the demand for electrical energy of roller mills, recovering the unused kinetic energy by the cylinders during grinding; at the same time the DD, which involves the direct coupling of permanent magnet motors to the grinding cylinders, gives maximum flexibility of adaptation of rollers speed, depending on the grinding step, on the type of grain or on the type of finished product wished.

This technology allows the milling complex to respond quickly and promptly to the increasingly demanding market needs, obtaining many different flours, up to the rare T38. Also, the DD system increases the extraction of flour by 0.5% - if compared to a "traditional" milling plant.

In addition to energy efficiency and grinding flexibility, the Corbeil mill is among the most efficient and performing in Europe thanks to the high level of engineering, designed to reduce maintenance and ensure maximum safety for operators.

Omas has paid the utmost attention to every detail. As an example, we mention the recovery of heat to condition the process air; the whole mill has been designed without edges and closed and sealed profiles to ensure maximum levels of hygiene and food safety; suitable materials have been used to avoid alterations and contamination of food, following MOCA regulations.

This new mill is part of an important project for the city ofCorbeil Essonnes, to enhance the industrial heritage and recover and renovate the surrounding area, which will see the light by the end of 2026.

The focus on reducing emissions thanks to a 30% energy saving togheter with the proximity to wheat crops, show how this mill wants to be sustainable and attentive to environmental issues.

This mill demonstrates how it is possible to innovate, both in terms of technology and process, a traditional sector as that of milling.
