Snack company Mondelēz International decided to invest $ 54 million in its facility at Gebze, Turkey. This facility is the biggest production facility of the company in terms of volume among gum and sugar factories.
Mondelēz International, which is the biggest market leader in gum and sugar in Turkey, decides to invest $ 54 million to its factory in Gebze. This investment will increase the export of Mondelēz International Turkey. With the new investment, new sugar production lines, which range from process to packaging, will be added to the existing production lines at the Gebze factory. With the investment to be realized at the end of 2019, the additional line is planned to start production in March of 2021.

Commenting on this big investment, İhsan Karagöz, the General Manager of Mondelēz International Turkey, said that the company continues its journey to be a global base. “The products produced in our Gebze factory are offered to the domestic market and exported to 50 countries from all over the world. As Mondelēz International Turkey, the company is among ‘the biggest 500 exporter.’ Our exports in 2018 amounted to TL 334 million. We recorded 48 percent growth in exports compared to the previous year. We can say that we have invested 220 million TL in the last 7 years. With a new investment of approximately $ 54 million, new sugar production lines will be added to the production lines. The new lines will increase production capacity by 20,000 tons,” he added.
