TMSD Chairman Abdülkadir Külahçıoğlu said consumption of pasta has been increasing day by day in the world and in Turkey because it can be stored for long time, prepared easily and is delicious, nutritious and economic food.
Pasta Industrialist’ Association of Turkey (TMSD) Chairman Abdülkadir Külahçıoğlu said published a message on the occasion of World Pasta Day on October 25. Külahçıoğlu stated that the day has been celebrated since 1998 with the initiative of Pasta Industrialist’ Association of Turkey. Telling that pasta has come out as the favorite food in many surveys in almost all countries from America to Africa, Külahçıoğlu stressed that pasta is a healthy choice which can be accessed by all parts of society.
Highlighting that pasta is basic ingredient for many healthy nutrition programs like “Mediterranean Diet”, Külahçıoğlu noted “Pasta meals is a delicious way which helps healthy foods such as vegetables and legumes consumed little by children to be consumed much more”.
Külahçıoğlu went on to say that consumption of the product is on the rise. “The consumption of pasta has been increasing day by day in the world and in Turkey because it can be stored for long time, prepared easily and is delicious, nutritious and economic food. While pasta consumption per capita in Turkey was 8.5 kgs in 2017, it rose to 8.7 kgs in 2018”, he added.
