Thomas Plewe appointed Managing Director IT & Digitalisation

Packaging specialist Theegarten-Pactec expands Management Board  Dresden-based company Theegarten-Pactec has strengthened its management team. Thomas Plewe joined Markus Rustler and Dr Egbert Röhm on the Management Board in February 2021. In the future, he will be responsible for digitalisation and change management and will be driving them forward in the company. Theegarten-Pactec In Thomas Plewe, Theegarten-Pactec – a packaging specialist for small-sized confectionery products – has picked an expert who has already held positions of responsibility at several companies and boasts a wealth of experience in process design and digital transformation, including implementing ERP and PDM solutions. Mr Plewe also brings many years of experience in plant and mechanical engineering as well as software development. For example, his most recent post was as Chief Information Officer for shipbuilder MV Werften. Prior to this, he was Chief Digital Officer at the Austrian group EWT, where he headed up departments including IT operations, project management and process design and developed and set up transformation projects. Thomas Plewe Thomas Plewe will serve the medium-sized family business Theegarten-Pactec as Managing Director IT & Digitalisation in the future. Founded in 1934, the company specialises in developing and manufacturing packaging machines for small-sized confectionery products and currently generates annual sales of some EUR 65 million. Mr Plewe will now be lending his strong support to existing Managing Directors Markus Rustler (Finance, Sales and Marketing) and Dr Egbert Röhm (Technology and Production) and will thus be elevating the digital transformation of internal processes and external services to a management-level issue. The 42-year-old, who holds a BA in computer science, will be responsible for areas including organisational and process management as well as change management for internal processes and procedures in the future, which are to be optimised and made as smart as they are efficient with the aid of digitalisation. New, innovative processes are also to be implemented that are likewise geared towards an integrated IT strategy. This creates the framework and lays the foundations for further developing Theegarten-Pactec’s digital products and services, which help its customers to run their packaging systems even more efficiently. Theegarten-Pactec The third Managing Director Thomas Plewe has some clear aims for the future: “Theegarten-Pactec has grown rapidly in recent years, and we want this growth to continue. Our goal is to put in place the best possible IT support for our internal processes and a higher degree of digitalisation to put ourselves in an ideal position for the future and to keep on developing and manufacturing high-performance packaging machines.” Theegarten-Pactec is a leading manufacturer in the field of packaging technology with operations all over the world and an international clientele that covers all continents. The company currently exports 90 to 95 per cent of its packaging solutions on average, almost 70 per cent of which are destined for markets outside Europe
