Turkish Grain Board (TMO) decided to increase the purchase prices by 400 TRY for wheat and 200 TRY for barley per ton. TMO increased the purchase price of durum wheat, which was previously announced as 6,500 TRY, to 6,900 TRY, and the purchase price of bread wheat, which was 6,050 TRY, to 6,450 TRY, and the purchase price of barley, which was 5,500 TRY, to 5,700 TRY. In the statement made by TMO, it was said that the "Grain Purchase Premiums" of 1000 TRY for wheat and 500 TRY for barley were decided to be paid in July. Thus, the price of durum wheat increased to 7,900 TRY, and the price of bread wheat to 7,450 TRY.

The statement went as follows: "Grain harvest, which started locally in mid-May within the country, is around 20% as of today. Harvest has been delayed by about 2-3 weeks in many regions due to shifts in the precipitation regime. It is observed for the time being that the farmer is holding most of its crop at hand amd has not put into commercial use yet.

Domestic and foreign market developments are closely followed by our Ministry and Turkish Grain Board, and it has been decided to increase TMO purchase prices by 400 TRY per ton for wheat and 200 TRY for barley, and to pay 'Grain Purchase Premiums' in July.

In this context, the premiums of our producers who deliver products to TMO in June will be paid in July, and the premium payments of products delivered in July and August will be paid in the subsequent month. Every manufacturer, who has delivered products to TMO to date, will benefit from the increased new purchase prices.”
