Abdülkadir Külahçıoğlu, President of Pasta Industrialists' Association of Turkey, stated that pasta exports increased by 25 percent and exceeded $360 million in the first half the year. "Our target for exports was 10 percent. Our current growth is 25 percent in value basis and beyond our expectations," he said. Külahçıoğlu said that one of the most sought-after food products in the COVID-19 process is pasta. Stating that there has been an increase in both amount and value basis in pasta exports, Külahçıoğlu said that 60 million dollars of income was obtained from 118 thousand tons of pasta exports in June, and the amount increased by 59.85 percent in amount and 67.92 percent in value when compared to the same month of the previous year. Külahçıoğlu stated that exports in the January-May period increased by 20 percent when compared to the previous year and reached 301 million 15 thousand dollars and made the following assessment: "In the first 6 months of 2020, pasta exports increased by 20 percent in amount compared to the first half of last year and reached 710 thousand tons. Our exports have increased by 25 percent in value, and we have exceeded 360 million dollars. We can say that we will close the year with an export income of over 700 million dollars. Our target in export was 10 percent. Our current growth rate is 25 percent in value and beyond our expectation."
