Developed as Türkiye's first pasta chip, Kıtlax reflects Beşsan Makarna's R&D-driven product development vision by opening up an entirely new category. Transforming traditional pasta into a crispy snack, the product aims to create new opportunities in both domestic and export markets with its distinctive flavours and versatile applications.

One of Türkiye's leading pasta manufacturers, Beşsan Makarna has taken a significant step in its product development strategy by entering the snack category. Developed by the company, Kıtlax Pasta Chips have been introduced as the first chips made from pasta in Türkiye, offering an innovative example of how pasta can evolve beyond being a product consumed only as a main meal.

Launched at a time when value-added product development is becoming increasingly important across the food industry, Kıtlax seeks to create an entirely new product segment by transforming pasta into a different consumption experience. Featuring a crispy texture, a variety of flavours and a convenient format, the product is primarily targeted at children, young consumers and those seeking innovative taste experiences.

An innovation powered by R&D

Kemal Çakmak, Chairman of the Board of Beşler Makarna, stated that Kıtlax is not simply a new product but a major outcome of the company's R&D and innovation strategy, demonstrating how pasta can move beyond its conventional areas of use.

"With Kıtlax Pasta Chips, we are proud to have achieved a first both in Türkiye and within the industry. By taking pasta beyond its traditional form, we are offering consumers a completely different experience. With its crispy texture, distinctive structure and rich flavour options, we have developed a strong alternative to conventional snacks. This product is not merely a new snack; it is a tangible reflection of our R&D capabilities and our commitment to innovation," said Çakmak, adding that the company will continue to focus on developing high value-added products.

A new consumption model for pasta

Kıtlax takes pasta out of the cooking pot and transforms it into a practical snack that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. This approach is regarded as an important example demonstrating that pasta-based products can also establish a place in the rapidly expanding global snack market.

The product is available in four different flavours—Ketchup, Hot Taco, Cheese and Sweet Corn—creating a broad portfolio that appeals to different age groups and evolving consumer preferences.

A strategy extending from retail to industrial channels

Beşsan Makarna has designed its marketing strategy beyond individual consumption. In addition to 40-gram packs intended for everyday snacking, Kıtlax is also offered in 4-5 kg bulk packaging for foodservice, institutional consumption and professional sales channels.

This multi-format approach forms part of the company's multi-channel growth strategy, aiming to expand Kıtlax's presence not only on supermarket shelves but also across foodservice outlets and various commercial distribution channels.

A growth vision built on next-generation products

At a time when consumer expectations are rapidly evolving and products offering new experiences are gaining importance across the global food industry, Kıtlax demonstrates that Beşsan Makarna is pursuing growth not only in conventional pasta production but also in high value-added product categories.

By expanding the application areas of pasta, this innovative product reflects Beşsan Makarna's ability to combine its manufacturing expertise with strong R&D and innovation capabilities. It also represents an important milestone in the company's long-term strategy to strengthen its competitiveness in both the Turkish and international markets.
