The licensed warehousing system, which holds great importance for the grain sector, is rapidly developing in Türkiye. Serdar Genç, Chairman of the Licensed Warehousing Companies Association (LİDAŞDER), stated that they expect further growth in the sector in the coming years, and through this congress, they aim to gather stakeholders to comprehensively evaluate licensed warehousing.
Genç stated that as LİDAŞDER, with the support of the Ministry of Trade and TMO, they successfully organized the first Licensed Warehousing Congress in 2022 with 500 participants, and they now aim to reach a wider audience and elevate the event to an international level.
Serdar Genç, Chairman of LİDAŞDER, stated that with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, TMO, TOBB, TÜRİB, MKK, and TAKASBANK, they will hold a congress titled “Licensed Warehousing and Grain Markets in Türkiye and the World” at Antalya’s Kaya Palazzo Hotel from January 16-19, 2025.
He shared that the Ministry of Trade has granted establishment permits for over 28 million tons of licensed warehouse capacity to date, with about 12 million tons already operational with a license. “This means that approximately 14 million tons of licensed warehouses are expected to become operational in the coming period. In this context, we anticipate strong participation in our congress from businesses that have already become operational, those seeking to increase capacity, and those just starting construction, as well as from the flour and feed sectors that closely follow the grain markets, alongside relevant public institutions and organizations,” said Serdar Genç.
He noted that nearly 1,000 participants are expected at the congress, where licensed warehousing and grain markets will be evaluated by expert panelists from Türkiye and abroad.
