The price of Ramadan pita for Istanbul and Ankara has been determined. During Ramadan, 350 gram of Ramadan pita will be sold for 3 TL in Istanbul and 300 gram of Ramadan pita will be sold for 2.5 TL in Ankara. 

Preparing for Ramadan for weeks, bakeries in Ankara and Istanbul relieved after the determination of the price of Ramadan pita. During the holy month of Ramadan, which has great importance for the bakery and bakery sector, the sector experiences an extra rush. Halil İbrahim Balcı, Chairman of Turkish Bakeries Federation, announced the price of Ramadan pita. 350 gram of Ramadan pita will be sold for 3 TL in Istanbul and 300 gram of Ramadan pita will be sold for 2.5 TL in Ankara. That means the price of Ramadan per kilogram is 8.5 TL while it was 7.30 TL last year. The price increase was set to 16 percent. In the last year, 275 gr of Ramadan pita was sold at 2 TL in Istanbul and Ankara. Istanbul Public Bread has decided to sell the pita for 1 lira. Meanwhile, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality decided not to increase the price of bread. Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara, said that the price of bread baked by the Public Bread shall not be hiked so that people in Ankara can consume cheap and health bread. “250 gram of bread will be sold for 70 kuruş. 250 gram of Ramadan pita will be sold for 1 TL,” he noted. Also, the Public Bread Factory decided to increase the capacity after the increase in bread prices in the market. Its daily capacity was increased from 750 thousand to 815 thousand.
