As the wheat harvest continues across the country, the Turkish Flour Industrialists’ Federation (TUSAF) President Mesut Çakmak and members of the Executive Board held a series of high-level meetings in Ankara, initiating discussions that could shape the future of Turkey’s flour industry.

During their intensive round of visits in the capital, TUSAF Chairman Mehmet Mesut Çakmak and board members met with Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, Deputy Minister Dr. Ahmet Bağcı, Deputy Minister of Trade Volkan Ağar, and Turkish Grain Board (TMO) Director General and Chairman of the Board Ahmet Güldal. These meetings provided a platform to discuss the key challenges, expectations, and potential solutions relevant to the flour industry.

The TUSAF delegation delved into a broad agenda that included the ongoing harvest season, current dynamics in the flour and grain markets, structural issues affecting the industry, the producer-consumer balance, investment plans, and export goals. Strategic topics such as the Turkish flour industry’s production capacity, domestic and international market dynamics, and sustainability-oriented future strategies were also thoroughly addressed.

Commenting on TUSAF’s visit, TMO Director General Ahmet Güldal stated:
“We exchanged views on the harvest season and the current conditions in the flour and grain markets. We highlighted the key role our institution plays in regulating the grain markets and maintaining the balance between producers and consumers. I extend my sincere thanks to Mr. Çakmak and his delegation for their kind visit.”

Following the meetings, TUSAF Chairman Mehmet Mesut Çakmak shared the following remarks:
“Together with our Executive Board Members, we had the opportunity to visit our Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mr. İbrahim Yumaklı, Deputy Minister Dr. Ahmet Bağcı, and TMO Director General Mr. Ahmet Güldal at the Ministry. We were able to assess the current developments affecting the flour industry and hold mutual consultations. Our discussions focused on the present state of the sector and our export targets, as well as on structural challenges and our proposed solutions.

These engagements proved to be highly productive for our industry. We are determined to take firm steps toward increasing our sector’s production strength and export capacity by maintaining consistent dialogue with public institutions. I sincerely thank our Minister and his distinguished team for their warm hospitality and their constructive approach to our sector.”
